The Seven Secrets to Perfect Sunglasses

Before selecting sunglasses – you must consider how they will look on your face.  What is your face shape and coloring?  What frame shape and color is best for you?  Determine this by identifying the following:

  1. The frame shape should compliment your face shape.
  2. The frame should enhance your best facial feature.
  3. The frame size should be in proportion to the shape of your face.

Sounds difficult? – Not really

There are seven basic shapes.

Once you have identified your shape – you’ll be ready to pick that perfect pair. Without this information – you will not be able to decide on the best glasses for you.

ROUND:

Curved lines – No angles – Length and Width about equal.  If this fits your description, select narrow glasses, such as rectangular – to lengthen your face.

OVAL:

If your face fits this description – you have the perfect shape. Glasses that are wide at the broadest part of your face will be complimentary.

BASE DOWN TRIANGLE:

Narrow at the forehead – Wider at the chin.  This face will best be complimented by glasses that are wider in shape.

BASE UP TRIANGLE:

The top half of the face is wider – The bottom half is narrower.  A light colored frame or rimless glasses will best compliment this face – taking attention away from the top half.

SQUARE:

A strong jaw and a broad forehead characterize thi shape.  Frames that are thicker or have more width will be complimentary.

DIAMOND:

A narrow jaw line with wider cheek bones describes this face.  Sunglasses that are rimless or cat eye would be attractive on this face.

OBLONG:

If your face is longer than wide and has a straight cheek line, then this best describes you.  Frames with depth to add dimension will be a plus for your face.

SKIN COLOR:

The color of your skin should also be considered.  Skin tones are either COOL or WARM.  Blue or Pink undertones indicate a COOL complexion whereas Yellow and Gold undertones signify a WARM one.  A person with COOL coloring should select frames of Blue, Black, Brown, Plum or Magenta.  Persons of  WARM coloring should consider Peach, Gold, Copper, Orange, Tan or Off White frames.

Personal satisfaction and self esteem is important. You will be wearing your sunglasses every day.  You certainly want to pleased each time you look in the mirror.

If you follow this guideline, there isn’t any reason you will not be pleased.
